چکیده

patieiits. Quantitative delineation of such patterns would be of potential diagnostic value and might provide insight imlto biochemical processes occurring inthusdisease. We have demonstrated imicreases in haptoglobin (1) and fibrinogen (2) concentrations,as well as totalserum proteins and protein-boummd carbohydrates (i). The findings on elevated fibrinogen levelshave been followed with a study of plasminogen, a component of the fibrinolytic system, with the results described here.

Soluble urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor levels in patients with schizophrenia.

BACKGROUND The etiology of schizophrenia remains largely unknown but alterations in the immune system may be involved. In addition to the psychiatric symptoms, schizophrenia is also associated with up to 20 years reduction in life span. Soluble urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) is a protein that can be measured in blood samples and reflects the levels of inflammatory activit...

Serum Level of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor Type-1 in Addicted Patients ‎with Coronary Artery Disease

Background: Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) is a glycoprotein with inhibitory effects on the formation of plasmin from plasminogen by plasminogen activator. Thus, it prevents clot lysis in vessel walls. Several evidences prove the relationship between coronary artery disease and response to fibrinolytic therapy in patients with myocardial infarction with PAI-1 level. Opium addiction i...

The Effects of Regular Aerobic Exercise on the serum levels of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 and Adiponectin in Obese Girls

Background: The modification of the adipokine levels can be important for the long-term prevention of systemic inflammation related to obesity in children. Objective: The current study aimed to investigate the effects of regular aerobic exercise on the serum levels of plasminogen Activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1) and Adiponectin in obese girls. Methods: This semi experimental research, 14 obese gi...

Dysfunction in the coagulation system and schizophrenia

Although different hypotheses have been formulated to explain schizophrenia pathogenesis, the links between them are weak. The observation that five psychotic patients on chronic warfarin therapy for deep-vein thrombosis showed long-term remission of psychotic symptoms made us suspect that abnormalities in the coagulation pathway, specifically low tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) activity, co...

Effect of Olanzapine and Risperidone on Oxidative Stress in Schizophrenia Patients

Oxidative stress has been suggested to contribute to the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. Increased oxidative stress is the result of either an increased production of free radicals or a depletion of the endogenous antioxidants. However, whether this imbalance of oxidant-antioxidant status in schizophrenia is integral to disease itself or the effect of antipsychotic drugs is not clearly unders...
